With a background in the finance industry, having previously worked as a Regulatory and Compliance Lawyer in the banking sector, Michael is a consummate lawyer who boasts of a practice experience that has seen him conduct proceedings in every court of record in Nigeria, successfully representing multinational organizations, government entities, domestic and international companies, high net worth individuals, as well as small businesses, startups and individuals on the lower cadre of the economic chain with commendable commitment, enthusiasm and highest degree of professionalism. At different times, Michael has assisted clients to successfully navigate the most complex of commercial disputes, banking and finance, real estate, employment and labor-related issues, media and entertainment law disputes, and intellectual property disputes. He has also advised on complex transactions like mergers and acquisitions, project finance, and private equity funding. Michael has a knack for exceeding a client’s expectations.
Some of the disputes he has worked on include but are not limited to successfully negotiating Unity Bank’s debt to Dawn Enterprise from N400,000,000 to N45,000,000, representing the Central Bank of Nigeria in various financial regulation disputes in court, and representing some of the executive producers of the Nigerian movie ‘Gangs of Lagos’ against the Isale-Eko Descendants Union in their suit for the censorship of the movie ‘Gangs of Lagos’
